This process, called reperfusion, can lead to the formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the heart, which can cause irregular heart rhythm. It is suggested that NMN and CoQ10 may reduce the negative effects on the heart by balancing such oxidative stress factors.

It is also suggested that this combination may improve the contractile capacity of the heart and help to circulate blood more efficiently. It is also emphasized that more extensive clinical trials are needed to confirm the potential effects of NMN and CoQ10.
